The Unified Patent Court is in effect since early 2023. This game-changing project, which was discussed and fought for since more than 40 years has finally become reality. Philipp Rastemborski, LL.M. will address the Unitary Patent and the Unified Patent Court from a business perspective and will give you an overview about the risks, rewards and arbitrage opportunities companies are facing when using the new system. Attendees will also learn about the checks and decisions that need to be taken today to secure all the benefits, whilst mitigating potential risks of the new system.
About the Speakers
Philipp Rastemborski
Philipp Rastemborski, LL.M. is a German-qualified Attorney-at-Law, Certified Specialist for IP law and a Partner at Meissner Bolte in Munich. Following a law degree from the Free University of Berlin, Philipp completed a master’s degree in EU Competition Law from the University of Edinburgh with a master thesis on compulsory licensing under Article 102 TFEU in the software industry.
Philipp has extensive professional experience in national and cross-border IP litigation in regulated industries, with a focus on patent infringement and nullity proceedings. His clients are manly active in the fields of electronics, telecoms, chip technology and mechanics. Many of them are players in the automotive sector.
Philipp is a member of GRUR, LES and VPP. MIP ranked him “Rising Star” in 2020 and 2021. Legal 500 names Philipp as one of the key attorneys of the firm’s litigation practice.
Dr. Florian Henke
Dr. Florian Henke is a German and European Patent Attorney and a Partner at Meissner Bolte in Munich. He studied mechanical engineering at the Technical University of Munich with a focus on the fundamentals of engineering and on environmental technologies and received his PhD in the field of Computational Fluid Dynamics.
As a patent attorney, Florian is frequently dealing with patent litigation cases, many of which involve cross-border collaboration. He represents clients in complex validity proceedings in a variety of different technical fields comprising medical technologies, forgery-proof optical technologies as well as plant, manufacturing and automotive engineering.
JUVE put Florian’s name as one of ten on the list “Ones To Watch in litigation – Germany 2021”.
